Terms of Service

These terms apply to your use of MaksimOS, the personal portfolio website of Maksim Babayan at https://maxus.life (the "Site"). "We", "us", and "our" mean Maksim Babayan as the operator of the Site; "you" means anyone who uses it. By using the Site, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the Site.

1. The Site

MaksimOS presents a portfolio of projects and writing as a simulated desktop operating system. It is provided free of charge. Features may change, be added, or be removed at any time, and the Site may be unavailable from time to time.

2. Accounts and guest access

You can use the Site as a guest or sign in with your Google account. Guest access is limited, and guest desktops are kept only in your browser until you close the tab.
You must be at least 13 years old to create an account.
You're responsible for activity on your account and for keeping your Google account secure. Tell us at [email protected] if you think your account has been misused.
Signing in with Google is also subject to Google's own terms.

3. Your content

Files, notes, and other content you create on the Site ("Your Content") belong to you. You give us permission to store, process, and display Your Content only as needed to run the Site for you, for example to save your desktop and show it back to you.

Don't store passwords, financial information, or other sensitive data on the Site. It isn't designed to protect that kind of information.
Keep your own copies of anything important. Storage has size limits, and we can't guarantee that content will never be lost.
You're responsible for Your Content and for having the right to use it.

4. Acceptable use

When using the Site, you agree not to:

break any law, or use the Site to store or share unlawful, harmful, hateful, or infringing material;
try to access other people's accounts or data, or get around security, rate limits, or other protections;
probe, scan, overload, or disrupt the Site or its infrastructure, or introduce malware;
scrape or copy the Site in a way that puts a heavy load on it;
impersonate others, or send spam or unsolicited messages through the Site;
post blog comments that harass, threaten, or spam others, share someone else's private information, or advertise;
use Customer Care to harass anyone, flood it with tickets, or upload recordings of other people without their permission;
use Mail to harass, threaten, or abuse anyone, to send slurs or hateful content, or to try to discover which email addresses have accounts.

Mail is for plain-text messages between MaksimOS accounts. It is not a replacement for regular email, can't send files, and may be unavailable at times. Messages are filtered automatically, and the administrator may suspend Mail for any account that misuses it.

Customer Care is a way to reach the site owner, not a guaranteed support service: replies come when they come, and tickets may be closed once they're dealt with. Voice notes are limited to one minute.

We may remove content or suspend or close accounts that break these terms or put the Site or other people at risk.

5. Our content

The Site's design, code, text, artwork, and wallpapers are owned by Maksim Babayan or used with permission, and are protected by copyright and other laws. You may view and share links to the Site, but you may not copy, modify, or reuse its content for other purposes without permission. Projects shown on the Site belong to their respective owners. Fonts are used under the SIL Open Font License. "Google" and the Google logo are trademarks of Google LLC.

6. Links to other sites

The Site links to other websites and services, including projects, GitHub, and Google. We don't control them and aren't responsible for their content, policies, or practices.

7. Disclaimer

The Site is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We don't promise that the Site will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure, or that your content will always be saved.

8. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we won't be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Site. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Site is limited to USD 50. Some places don't allow these limitations, so they may not all apply to you.

9. Ending your use

You can stop using the Site at any time, and you can delete your account yourself from the account panel (the ^ in the taskbar) or by emailing [email protected]. We may suspend or end access to the Site, or to any account, at any time, especially if these terms are broken. Sections 3 (your responsibility for Your Content), 5, 7, and 8 continue to apply after your use ends.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the Site changes. We will post the new version here with a new effective date, and for significant changes we will show a notice on the Site. If you keep using the Site after changes take effect, you accept the updated terms.
